What a girl will think of what I wear? Argyle Sweater?

How is a bright argyle sweater on a guy look at a cool bar?

I am invited to a girl who I like’s birthday party at a bar in New York City. It is a hip lounge/bar but not like a pretentious club; somewhere in the middle. I wanna wear a salmon argyle sweater zip up cashmere with trendy g star jeans and nice shoes. Is this all right? or is the argyle sweater too over the top? I like argyle and bright colors; moreover I don’t want to wear a button down and blend in; I wanna stand out.

kinda step it up a bit, Wear a black tee shirt, a green button up shirt, a pair of slacks an some good shoes (preferably some dress shoes ). and spike your hair up a bit. wear a good looking watch too.
