Leaving dog at Kennel on Emergency Trip but..?
We will leave on an emergency family related trip in a few days. The only place to put my dog is at the kennel.
We have a kennel singled out, and she will have to stay there for at least 3 weeks. This kennel takes the dogs/puppies to a huge place for taking care of dogs (sorry I don’t know what it’s called), so my she will be interacting with other dogs. The one big concern is we are worried she might get pregnant. She hasn’t been spayed.
Actually we were initially planning on taking her to the vet to get spayed in a week or so before this issue came up.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help; I’m not looking for comments like you should have gotten spayed sooner. This is quite an urgent matter, so serious answers please.
Let the people running the kennel know she is intact. Is her heat due while you are away? If so, let them know that as well. If they are any good, they will not leave her around any intact males.
