Questions about a new puppy?

My fiance and I are getting ready to buy a Chihuahua from a friend in a couple weeks. It’s been a long time since either of us have had a dog. And neither of us have had a smaller breed. What do we need to know about Chihuahua’s in general. And what do we need to get especially for it. Also, are they generally good puppies, or trouble makers?

They are great little dogs and very smart too.

I recommend crate training from a very early age.

They can be somewhat stubborn and hard to housebreak if they have free range of the house.

Crates also keep them safe from choking hazzards when you are asleep or not home to supervise them.

Pregnancy is normally about 60-65 days long. In cases of large litters, length is usually lessened. In cases of a small litter number, length may increase.

Your veterinarian will give your cat a check up to see if she is healthy and tell you how far along she is. Feline pregnancy lasts about 65 days, but like humans can be slightly shorter or slightly longer. Unless your cat suffers injury or illness, you will not need veterinarian assistance again.
